Announcing registry.erlef.org
Today you'll find something new at registry.erlef.org. As the the Erlang Ecosystem Foundation works to serve its members, sponsors and ecosystem we believe in the value of a canonical, central and trusted company registry.
Together we can answer the key question "who uses this?" Populating this registry with companies working within the Erlang ecosystem, with any of the more than 16 languages, will shine a light on the significant scope of our ecosystem.
It benefits individual members (as workers and buyers) in finding companies using the technologies they know and trust. It benefits the companies as we can keep them updated on the ongoing work in the ecosystem, inform about risks and mediate opportunities in the community. It also supports foundation efforts when seeking funding by showing evidence of ecosystem size and engagement.
Help us ensure your company is represented. This is the simplest way to show your support for the ecosystem and the EEF. It has never been easier. By signing up your company, by being the point of contact or finding an appropriate representative to sign you up, you are already helping the ecosystem.
How does it work?
Register the company you work for or find someone who can. The person who signs the company up will receive an email to verify the email address. Click the appropriate link. The company is now registered and can be managed by the person who signed up.
Done. There is no further commitment or effort required.
Updates
We plan to send out quarterly updates to registered contacts. They will focus on higher-level concerns relevant to technical leadership at companies using the BEAM and related opportunities.
The Future
This first step creates a vetted list of ecosystem companies mediated through the community trust placed in the EEF. As a non-profit, the EEF serves the community by bringing together individuals and entities with interests in the ecosystem. The intent of the registry is to create awareness and opportunities for all participants.
By connecting participants, we see many possible directions for evolution and become an increasingly valuable resource. As an EEF member, please engage in the EEF Slack and talk about what you would like to see and where you would like this to go. Not a member? That's easy to fix: Join the EEF.
